Jumping Into June

Can you believe it’s already June? We’re suddenly halfway through 2023! My, how time flies!

With graduations continuing to occur this month, I’m sure that many - namely, students & their families - are acutely aware of how quickly time passes. We join with you in celebrating and praying for this year's graduates. You can find an inspiring & encouraging selection of gifts for the grads in your life here at the bookshop,
including cards, devotionals, Bibles, journals, t-shirts, caps, & much more.

This month, we also look forward to honoring our fathers (and father figures) on Sunday, June18th. What a blessing fathers are! Billy Graham once said that, “a good father is one of the most unsung, unpraised, unnoticed, and yet one of the most valuable assets in our society.” Let’s make this Father’s Day one where we reverse the first part of his statement; let’s thank God for our dads and make sure they know just how important they are.As you search for a gift for the fathers/father figures in your life, check out the bookshop’s selection of items that dads are sure to love - cards, devotionals, Bibles, books, wallets & caps, to name a few.
Book of the Month

For June, I’ve chosen “Wild Awakening” by Greg J. Matthews as the book to highlight this month.
Matthews is no stranger to danger, adventure, & sacrifice. He has served as a U.S. Air Force & civilian firefighter, emergency medical technician, special operations rescue technician, rescue helicopter pilot, fugitive recovery agent, World Trade Center attack first responder, and international consultant on emergency management & security.Currently, he serves as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Southwestern Division antiterrorism officer and is the founder of Chase What Matters ministry.
In “Wild Awakening,” Matthews details how an Alaskan hunting trip took a turn for the worse when he was gruesomely attacked by a grizzly. The nearly fatal encounter with a bear was followed by a long & painful recovery, but ultimately, the terrible incident is what led him to encounter God. As he healed physically, he also healed spiritually. Where previously he had found his identity in his own masculinity and lived his life trying to earn love from his father, family, & God, he came to understand God’s love and to find his true value in God’s eyes alone.
