April 2024 Quarterly Newsletter

Hello friends! I hope this finds you well and that you have had a wonderful first quarter of 2024. Goodness, can you believe it’s already Spring, going on Summer? Even though time feels like it is flying by, what a blessing this Springtime season is! In the words of writer Jessica Harrelson, “Spring adds new life and new joy to all that is.” We feel that in the air and in our bones, don’t we? How kind is it that our God created such a time for us to enjoy; a season that reminds us of the new life He gives & the joy found therein.

This quote also applies to happenings at the bookshop. New life is added to the shop every time a new customer walks in our red door, and as I introduce lots of new merchandise, there are delightful little joys to be found in every corner. I’ll highlight a few here…

Scripture Stones: These beautifully colored glass stones are engraved with some of the most well-known & well-loved Bible verses. Quite a few customers have discovered that their favorite verse is featured on a stone! These stones are perfect to carry in your pocket or purse as a portable message that maybe you need to be reminded of daily. Some folks have shared that they use their stone during their quiet time with God, holding it as they pray.

Scent-iments: These air fresheners come in 2 scents and 4 designs. They are perfect to hang on your rear view mirror for a sweet scent & reminder every time you hop in your car.

Fudge and a fun snack mix: These yummy food

items have been added to the bookshop’s offerings this year. The creamy, delicious fudge has quickly become a customer favorite. Flavors include everything from classic Chocolate and Peanut Butter to more unique flavors like Triple Berry Cheesecake and Cookies & Cream. The honey cheddar snack mix is a perfectly portioned treat that is great for those who favor salty over sweet.

Although space doesn’t allow me to go into detail, there are even more new items in the bookshop, including Christian and bookish canvas tote bags and a variety of inspirational keychains. There are also new Bible cover designs, new candle scents, new garden flag designs, new boxed card sets, etc.

As always, there are new books, Bibles, & devotionals, for all ages, continually being added to our bookshelves.

Lastly, I always love celebrating the holidays with my customers. I hope you all had a blessed Easter last month as we remembered the sacrifice of our Savior on the cross and celebrated His victory over death, hell, & the grave. I so enjoyed helping you prepare for that day - as you shopped for a devotional to use during Lent, as you selected special books & gifts to add to Easter baskets, and as you picked up communion supplies for your church.

As we now look forward to the upcoming

celebrations of Spring and Summer - Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 12; Memorial Day on Monday, May 27; high school & college graduations; Father’s Day on Sunday, June 16, and Independence Day - be sure to visit the bookshop to find those special, faith-filled books and gifts that your loved ones are sure to love.
