April Anticipations
Oh my goodness, the month of March blew in and blew out (figuratively & literally) so
quickly! It’s hard to believe it’s already April, but how exciting; there’s so much to look
forward to!

First and foremost is the upcoming Easter celebration. Palm Sunday (April 2), Good Friday (April 7), and Resurrection Sunday (April 9) serve as annual markers for believers to remember and celebrate the Good News of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. And what wonderful news it is - that God sent His Son to our world to live the sinless life we can’t, to die the death that we deserve because of our sins, and to be buried and rise again, proving that He is the Way, the Truth, & the Life and securing eternal life for all who will accept His love! I pray that this year’s Easter celebration will be a time for all of us to believe, afresh and more deeply than ever before, in God’s great love for us as demonstrated by Jesus’s saving work at Calvary. As a beautiful song goes, “Any doubt that You love me was settled at the cross.”

Following Easter, we look forward to honoring our mothers and our 2023 graduates. As you prepare for these celebrations, I hope you’ll pay a visit to the bookshop. We have great items for the moms and grads in your life, including books, cards, devotionals, journals, caps, t-shirts, jewelry, & a variety of gifts.

Book of the Month

With Easter at the forefront of mind and heart this month, I’ve chosen The Heart of the Story by pastor & author Randy Frazee as April’s Book of the Month.
In this book, Frazee takes you through the Bible’s Old & New Testaments, looking at several major stories and helping you discover God’s one great master plan - and how your own unique story fits into it. You’ll learn to approach and understand God’s Word better by thinking about it on two levels - the lower story (the stories of men & women experiencing God in their ordinary, everyday lives; this is also our story) and the upper story (God’s overarching plan and ultimate purpose). Divided into 31 short chapters, this well-written, easy read is a great book to complete over the course of a month, focusing on one chapter a day. I hope you’ll join me in reading this book during April and discovering, maybe for the first time or maybe more clearly, God’s heart in His story and how wonderful your own story can be when it’s united with His.
